The project studies the Hokkien Chinese community for designing a hotel in an old Sino-Portuguese architectural style

ออกแบบโรงแรมภายใต้อาคารเก่าสไตล์ชิโนโปรตุกีสในจังหวัดภูเก็ตนี้ โดยอาคารสไตล์พวกนี้จะผสมกับหลักความเชื่อของคนจีนและยุโรปผสมด้วย ซึ่งได้เกิดเป็นการผสมที่ลงตัว โดยทีนี้อาคารเก่าพวกนี้ผ่านมาเป็น 100 ปี อาจจะเก่า เพราะเช่นนี้อาจเกิดการทรุดโทรมได้ จึงได้นํามาออกแบบโรงแรมนี้โดยใช้ตึกอาคารพานิชย์ 2 ชั้นนี้ โดยใช้ออกแบบประมาณ 8 ตึก โดยในสมัยก่อนสีอาคารอาจจะไม่ฉูดฉาดมาก และในปัจจุบันได้เกิดมีกราฟฟิตี้มากมาย และคนสมัยนี้ชอบอะไรสวยๆ แปลกๆ จึงเห็นประโยชน์ จึงได้นํากราฟฟิตี้และสีสันเข้ามาผสมในตึกผลงานนี้ด้วยให้ดูทันสมัย แต่ยังคงเหลือหลักความเชื่อและความศรัทธาไว้ซึ่งด้วยความโดดเด่นของ ''ฉิ่มแจ้'' ที่เป็นการเปิดหลังคาสามารถมองทะลุปรุโปร่งช่วยให้อากาศถ่ายเทและเย็นขึ้นได้ เพราะอาคารเหล่านี้หน้าต่างจะมีหน้าต่างแค่ด้านหน้ากับด้านหลัว จึงได้เกิด ''ฉิ่มแจ้'' กลางบ้านตามหลักความเชื่อของคนจีน แต่ยังมีความทันสมัยทั้งลวดลายสมัยใหม่ผสมเข้าไปร่วมกัน โดยเกิดเป็นโรงแรมใหม่ที่ยังคงเก่าชวนให้คิดถึงวันวาน

Designing a hotel within an old Sino-Portuguese-style building in Phuket. These buildings blend elements of Chinese and European beliefs, creating a harmonious architectural style. These old buildings have stood for over a century and may have deteriorated over time. Therefore, this hotel design incorporates a two-story commercial building, with approximately 8 buildings planned in total.

In the past, the building colors may not have been very vibrant, but nowadays, graffiti has become popular, attracting people with its beautiful and unique designs. The project incorporates graffiti and vibrant colors into the buildings, giving a modern aesthetic while still preserving the traditional beliefs and faith embedded in the design.

One prominent feature is the "Chim Jae", a traditional open-roof design that provides a view of the sky while enhancing ventilation and cooling. Since these old buildings had windows only at the front and rear, the "Chim Jae" was introduced in the center of the house, following Chinese beliefs. The design blends modern patterns with a nostalgic atmosphere, creating a hotel that feels both contemporary and timeless, evoking memories of the past.
